ROOM 035
A familiar room becomes unsettling when one rule is quietly removed.
Studio Su builds character-led dreamcore stories from original drawing, 3D reconstruction, scene direction, and carefully documented iteration.

MOTOYAN / CHARACTER STUDY© SUE / STUDIO SUCharacter genesis
Quiet, watchful, and slightly amused, Motoyan is an original character created by Sue. Copyright registration has been issued for the original 2D artwork. Her uneasy smile stays constant while the world around her loses its logic.
Maodou is not a guide. He simply notices the wrong thing a moment earlier.
Expression archive
A controlled expression system extends Motoyan from still images into everyday communication without losing her strange, restrained identity.
© SUE / STUDIO SUHow the world is built
The 2D artwork establishes identity, silhouette, and emotional tone.
A visual anchor protects proportion, gaze, materials, and expression.
A consistent model gives the character physical presence across views.
Lighting, scale, color, and anomaly are art-directed room by room.
The artist
Sue is a Chinese independent artist and the creator of Motoyan. Her practice explores childhood memory, emotional ambiguity, and impossible institutional spaces through character design, 3D imagery, and dreamcore visual storytelling.
Selected collaborations, exhibitions, publishing, and character licensing.
